For those who have yet to hear the news, here's a MTV report on the crash of the AMT's tour bus:

An Anger Management 3 tour bus whose passengers included Eminem's DJ, Alchemist, and the Detroit rapper's latest prot?Šg?Š, Atlanta's Stat Quo, collided with a pair of tractor-trailers just outside Odessa, Missouri, before overturning

Wednesday night, triggering a six-vehicle pileup that left 11 people seriously injured.

The injured were rushed to hospitals — some of them, via helicopter. Seven tour bus passengers sustained injuries, although police did not disclose specific details on what or how severe those injuries were.

Stat Quo, who was listed on the accident report by his real name, Stanley Benton, was taken to Independence Regional Health Center in Independence, Missouri, where he was treated for bumps and bruises and released, according to a hospital spokesperson. Stat's manager, Joseph Fendrick, was transported to the same hospital, where he's listed in fair condition; he sustained a broken arm and ankle.

Scott Cherry, a Shady Records bodyguard who protects 50 Cent and Eminem, was treated at and released from St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Alan Maman, better known as Alchemist, is still being treated at St. Luke's for broken ribs and a collapsed lung; his brother and co-manager, Neil Maman, also remains under hospital care, but his injuries were not known as of press time. Both are listed in good condition.

The bus' driver, Charlie Gilligard, and the tour's trainer, Robert Haddoni, were listed as being in stable condition at Independence Regional and Lee's Summit Hospital in Kansas City, respectively. Four others — drivers and passengers of the other vehicles involved — were treated and released, according to a police spokesperson.

According to a Missouri Highway Patrol accident report, the crash occurred just after 6 p.m. Wednesday on a heavily trafficked stretch of Interstate 70 outside Odessa. The bus — bound for Denver, the site of Thursday night's (July 14) Anger Management 3 tour stop — was "traveling at a high rate of speed" when its driver swerved onto the highway's shoulder to avoid the slower-moving tractor-trailers.

The bus slid off the right side of the roadway but then veered sharply to the left and back onto the highway, clipping one of the trucks.

The force from the impact shot the truck across several lanes of traffic and over the highway median, into the oncoming-traffic lane. The bus continued its trajectory, striking a second 18-wheeler. The brunt of that collision forced the bus onto its side; the vehicle came to rest on the highway's median, with a portion of the bus protruding into the eastbound lanes. Four other vehicles, including two motorcycles, collided with truck and bus debris.

According to the Kansas City Star, the driver of one of the tractor-trailers, Breck Wyngarden, estimated the bus' speed at 85 mph.

According to an Interscope Records spokesperson, the accident will not affect the remainder of the tour — which features 50 Cent, Eminem, Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz, G-Unit, D12, Obie Trice and Stat Quo — or the Denver concert. A substitute DJ is being sought to fill in for Alchemist until he's well enough to return to the tour. Stat Quo's status is in limbo, with label reps saying it is quite possible he will not take the stage in Denver. MTV News will be updating this developing story throughout the day.

i was like  ....FUUUCK!!

The end of EMINEM?

Here's a Yahoo report on Eminem stating how this is his last solo
Performance as 'Eminem', take it whatever way you want but by clearly stating this is the end of 'Eminem' and not his career in rap, you can pretty much assume 'Marshall' will return .... till then

Quote:
DETROIT (Reuters) - Rap superstar Eminem plans to make his last solo performance in Ireland in September, the Detroit Free Press, his hometown newspaper, said on Friday.

Location: Age: to

Citing sources close to the 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, the daily also said his current album "Encore" would probably be his last as he moves to full-time work as a record producer.

The final solo appearance of Mathers, the best-selling hip-hop artist ever, would be at a concert in Dublin, Ireland, on Sept. 17, the Free Press said.

The newspaper quoted his manager, Paul Rosenberg, as saying no official decision had been made about the future of the Grammy and Oscar-winning artist who has recorded three top-10 albums.

But Rosenberg said Mathers' current multi-platinum album was "certainly the cap on this part of his career."

Mathers' spokesman at Interscope Records in Los Angeles could not immediately be reached for comment.

The Free Press said the rapper, who has sold more than $1 billion worth of records, has grown weary of the media spotlight and may be musically spent.

"Marshall feels he's said everything he can say as Eminem," one insider was quoted as saying. "The idea that he intended this ("Encore") to be his last record is something that everyone on the inside circle has known for a while."

Another source said "Encore," which was released last year, had been an especially difficult record for the artist to make. "Marshall really struggles to write for himself now, to speak through the voice of Eminem," the source said.

"He knows as well as anybody that there comes a point where you risk beating this thing to death."

The cover shot on "Encore" shows Mathers taking a bow, and its closing song is entitled "Curtains Down."

In the album's liner notes, and in his current concert tour, Mathers has also played up the figurative death of Eminem.

"This is how you go out with a bang, baby," Mathers says in one video," after pulling the trigger of a pistol that misfires on himself.

Da! :D Am citit in Detroit Free Press ca Encore este mult prea probabil ultimul lui album, va canta pentru ultima data in Dublin > 17 septembrie (nishte prieteni merg in Germania > are concert, dar vad ca nu a facut prea multa reclama). Sincer, am ascultat Eminem la inceput > ascult si acum, dar mesajele trasmise de el, nu ma ajutau cu absolut nimic > acum nici atat, nu`i vedeam rostul, ma bucur ca a realizat si el > probabil i`a deschis Dre ochii  (Mi`ar place sa semneze Alicia cu Dre :D ar iesi ceva super tare :D )

Un "producator" in +
After all these years this is actually the best move he made for the good of hip hop.
Encore is a terrible way to end your legacy, if this story is true.

Moka Only "Desired Effect"

Swollen Member Moka Only is getting ready to release his fourth major album, "Desired Effect". Moka actually has over 20 full length LP's but most are very hard to find. Moka reached out on this album, getting features from the likes of Jay Dee, MF Doom, Madchild, K-OS  and more. We have the first single "Once Again" available for you to check out. The song features Madchild, and is probably not what you're expecting it to be. Moka went from picking his teeth with the bones of cadavers, to just wanting to be in love.

:D :D :D Ma bucur nespus, sper sa rupa ! Moka Only ft/ Madchild - Once Again

Marc Ecko presents . . . The Getting Up Festival

Designer Marc Ecko is throwing one hell of a festival in Toronto. If you have plans on August 13th & 14th, cancel them. Confirmed artists for this event are: Ludacris, Kanye West, Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Ciara, Fat Joe, Mos Def, Kardinal Offishall, Brooke Valentine, Rascalz, and Keisha Cante. Now these are just the confirmed performers. Expect more to be announced soon.

In addition to the epic concert, the festival will include a sneaker gallery, a car show, a video vixen contest (with Lil X & Melyssa Ford), a gaming arena, a graffiti expo, artist meet and greets, b-boy and b-girl crews, MC & DJ battles, retail shops and more.

If you live in the Toronto area and you aren't going to this, you better be in the hospital.

Leela James- A Change is gonna come(album)

It??€s the day of Leela James??€ release in more ways than one. Not only has the Los Angeles native??€s debut album A Change Is Gonna Come finally hit stores after receiving rave reviews, but her long, hard work is paying off at last. It??€s high time for a little exuberance.
Just hours before hitting up S.O.B.s in New York City for a performance, James??€ high-pitched giggle pierces through the phone like a squealing dolphin??€evidence enough that this R&B newcomer is plenty overjoyed. What lies beneath the laugh, and the mass of hair that instantly distinguishes Ms. James from others, however, is relatively unknown for now. The one thing she does wish to divulge??€and rather clearly??€is that change is on its way.

??€?It??€s a change that will perish the current form of R&B considered popular music, so to speak,??€? predicts James. With artists like Alicia Keys and John Legend gaining national notoriety, Mariah Carey crafting a fierce comeback, and fans holding their collective breaths for Lauryn Hill??€s return [sigh], Rhythm & Blues seems to already be witnessing a revival. How do we know it??€s for real this time? ??€?It??€s hard to tell if you go judging [by] what you hear on the radio,??€? says James. ??€?But I do believe there are other artists out there that are just not being heard.??€?

Image
With vocals that garner comparisons to one-name soul legends like Chaka and Aretha, James seems determined to revitalize the old school sound that has often been missing from R&B. That??€s a task many have undertaken and failed at. But even if James lacks sufficient evidence to back her claims, at least she??€s got the beginnings of what looks like a lasting career. If not for a knee injury that halted her track profession, though, she??€d likely be jumping different hurdles than the obstructive industry barriers set in place.

Growing up in a home where soul spewed from the speakers, James soaked in plenty of lessons and came out with a genuine love of music. Artists like Al Green, and Marvin Gaye provided daily inspiration and cultivated her appreciation for the art. ??€?That??€s what I heard on the record player. That??€s what we listened to, and that??€s what we jammed to,??€? says James. ??€?My father had the biggest record collection that I could even imagine, so I heard it all.??€?
Following a fleeting gig in an all-girl trio, the professed soul pupil regrouped to coordinate the aforementioned change, as manifested in her solo debut. ??€?I didn??€t just get on the scene last month. I was always doing [me] in terms of music. That??€s why it took me a little bit longer,??€? she declares. ??€?But I believe in doing certain things, and doing it with integrity.??€?

Serving as co-writer for her album, James aligned with Commissioner Gordon [who worked with the indelible Lauryn Hill] to executive produce her joint. Add to that, production credits from Raphael Saadiq, Wyclef Jean, and Chucky Thompson. Before Kanye became a poster child for the sped-up soul and Hip-Hop blends, James even got to savor some of his revolutionary production flair.
The result is a record that defies the music that is usually force fed to the public for mass consumption. "Music" is a plea for artistic variety, while ??€?Rain" exhibits the funk that separates James from the pack. ??€?I sing about real stuff, like the good and the bad in terms of relationships,??€? she says. ??€?It??€s really an open autobiography about my life.??€? Then there??€s the title track taken from one of James??€ mentors.

??€?It was a way of paying homage to a legend that was so great, as well as reintroducing him to a generation of people that may not be familiar with him and keeping his legacy alive,??€? says James, referring to Sam Cooke??€s 1964 hit. ??€?[It also] personifies my personal journey in the industry and trying to get discovered, and once being discovered, then just trying to be out there and put the music out there the way that I believe it should have been presented, without having to compromise my beliefs.??€?

After touring around Europe in the coming months, James returns to the States to continue altering the face and voice of R&B, one note at a time. It??€s a hefty mission, but James has come equipped - and, like Diddy, she won??€t stop. ??€?As long as I??€m making music, representing and doing what??€s real and true to me,??€? she says. ??€?I have a responsibility first and foremost to myself, and then to the music that I believe in.??€?

MF Doom, Dangermouse Team Up For 'DangerDoom'
By Kye Stephenson
Image

Two of the underground's favorite sons, Danger Mouse and MF Doom, have come together to release a collaborative effort titled DANGERDOOM: The Mouse and the Mask.
The album was inspired by the Cartoon Network's series of late-night animated shows known as Adult Swim. And according to Epitaph Records president Andy Kaulkin - who is releasing the project - the mix of different ingredients has turned into a delectable offering.

"Danger Mouse and Doom are both brilliant at taking chunks of pop culture and reshaping them into art. The context of Adult Swim makes this already promising collaboration truly inspired," Kaulkin said.

DANGERDOOM will feature skits and voices from Adult Swim's popular shows, as well as special appearances by Ghostface, Cee-Lo and Talib Kweli.

The album is slated to drop on October 11th on Epitaph Records.

Danger Mouse is best known for his conceptual album The Grey Album, in which he combined Jay-Z's Black Album and the Beatles' White Album. He also has a collaborative album with Cee-Lo in the works called Gnarls Barkley.

MF Doom came up in the group KMD. After a five-year hiatus, he re-emerged as the metal-masked MF Doom, taken from the comic super-villain Dr. Doom.

He has released numerous critically acclaimed albums, including Operation: Doomsday and Mmm...Food. Currently, MF Doom reportedly has a project with Ghostface in the works.

Rev Run Finishes First Ever Solo Album
By Roman Wolfe
Image

Former Run-DMC member Reverend Run has announced the completion of his first ever solo album, Distortion.

The album was produced entirely by Run and Whiteboy. The first single from the album, ??€?Mind On the Road,??€? will be featured in EA Sports??€ popular football title, ??€?Madden 2006.??€?

Run, born Joseph Simmons, is the younger brother of Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons.

Russell Simmons recently launched a new label, the Russell Simmons Music Group, which is distributed by the Island Def Jam Music Group, a Universal company.

Simmons managed Run-DMC before founding pioneering Hip-Hop label, Def Jam Records along with partner Rick Rubin in 1984.

??€?Timing is everything," Russell Simmons said in a statement. "The uncompromising loud abrasive rock and roll hip-hop of Run-DMC knocked open the doors to commercial freedom for the rap generation. Their very best efforts were big in the streets and were ahead of their time when it came to the mainstream. The debut album from Rev Run, Distortion, is honest, creative, special, refreshing, and still incredibly commercial. The time is now for Rev Run."

The release of Run??€s solo album also coincides with the release of four classic Run-DMC reissues: Run-DMC, King of Rock, Raising Hell and Tougher Than Leather.

The reissues hit stores September 6, while Distortion hits stores on September 13.

Eminem isn't going nowhere anytime soon ... who says? Mr Mathers himself.

Quote:
Eminem basically said it was bullshit last night at the concert. In short, he did a skit about how he likes to read articles and brought up how he read how he was "retiring". He then said that the article next to his was "the moon to blow up today" or something along those lines. He then said "i'm retiring?" and mooned the crowd. He then said if he did retire, he'd come back as rainman and that's how he went into the next song. so there u go.
