DJ Eclipse si Goretex de la Non Phixion au petrecut 24 de ore intr-o inchisoare din Germania, fiind eliberati abia dupa ce au platit o cautiune de 4000$.

Non Phixion se afla in Germania pentru a sustine un concert intr-un club din Munchen. Cu cateva minute inainte ca trupa sa intre pe scena, promotorul show-ului, Andreas, a disparut cu banii pe care artistii ar fi trebuit sa-i incaseze, motiv pentru care Ill Bill & co. au refuzat sa inceapa spectacolul. Nemultumiti de decizia luata, cei prezenti in club au inceput sa devasteze localul. Sabac a incercat sa calmeze spiritele, rugandu-i pe cei prezenti in club sa se linisteasca, dar fara succes. Politia a ajuns intr-un final la fata locului si, dupa ce a evacuat clubul, i-a arestat pe DJ Eclipse si Goretex, acuzandu-i de incitare la violenta si distrugere de bunuri.

Lee Lacocca and Snoop Dogg Team Up


Former Chrysler Corp. chairman Lee Iacocca and Snoop Dogg appear together in Chrysler Group's latest ads for its employee-pricing program, a duo guaranteed to raise some eyebrows.

The 80-year-old Iacocca and Snoop Dogg, who made his name rapping about sex and marijuana, appear as golf buddies in the ad, scheduled to begin airing Saturday. Snoop Dogg wears an argyle sweater vest, while Iacocca dons a pastel plaid hat. At the end of the TV spot, Snoop Dogg says: ``If the ride is more fly, then you must buy.'' Iacocca responds: ``That's what I hear.''

Chrysler spokeswoman Suraya DaSante said the pairing isn't as odd as it seems. Snoop Dogg is a bona fide Chrysler fan who called company President and CEO Dieter Zetsche last year asking for a Chrysler 300C sedan.

``They're both total car guys,'' DaSante said.

Iacocca has filmed three other ads as part of the $75 million campaign, including one ad featuring former ``Seinfeld'' co-star Jason Alexander.

Iacocca is donating his fee to the Iacocca Foundation, which fights diabetes. Chrysler also agreed to become a sponsor of JoinLeeNow, a diabetes fund-raising effort.

Snoop Dogg also has a charity, the Snoop Youth Football League, but DaSante said she didn't know if he was donating his fee. A message was left with a spokeswoman for the rapper.

Chrysler said this week that it is indefinitely extending its incentive program, which lets consumers pay the employee price for most 2005 vehicles. The program, which began last month, had been scheduled to end Monday, but Chrysler extended it after seeing its sales jump 32 percent in July. Chrysler is part of DaimlerChrysler AG.

A Grimm Outlook On Society

MF Grimm announced earlier this month that his next album will encompass three CDs and feature nearly 75 songs, (cot damn!) making this one of the most extensive hip hop albums of all time. The album, ??€?American Hunger??€� drops on September 20th, but fans can feed their hunger much sooner than that. In coordination with the album release Grimm, along with several of hip hop??€�s most prolific writers announced the launch of AmericanHunger.com. The website is basically an online magazine with a wide array of topics and authors contributing about varying degrees of important societal issues. Peter Agoston, an AmericanHunger.com author and writer for URB and XLR8R described the website as, ??€?a refreshingly bold take of stateside society, from a wholly unique hip-hop perspective??€?. Dj Quik Talks about his "Trauma" Mixtape - August 8, 2005

Mtv.com hooked up with DJ Quik to talk breifly about his Trauma Mixtape. Here's the article:

DJ Quik is readying his new LP, Trauma, and put this mixtape out as a warmup. Along with the new tracks, Quik mixed in some of his greatest hits, like "Tonight" and "Pitch in on a Party."

"I'm 14 years in the game," Quik said. "There's some kids that weren't even born when my first album came out. I wanted to draw a timeline between my old stuff and my new stuff and bridge it to where there's a level of continuity."

"But before I did the record I went to the Bahamas to be a part of that salt water and relax. Jet ski," he added. "I came back to New York and recorded that record. We had an issue with the plane. The baggage-claim dude was flirting with my girl and she checked him. I wasn't taking a shot at Aaliyah, but I didn't want to change the line because I lived it. It was just wordplay. I was shouting out Mausberg [on another line in the song] too because I miss him. Him being dead is a great injustice to hip-hop because I feel he was next."

"I grew up with my niece, she was 28 years old," he said. F--- my psyche, it affected the way I breathe. It was like somebody took an organ away from me without my permission. She was a gorgeous kid. She was the anchor of the family, a peacemaker. Death sucks, but I played it in all major key because it always makes you happy even though it's a death march, in a sense."

Ras Kass Puts Out Street Album

Ras Kass is set to put out a street album independently, set for a release on August 12th, while some sites say August 15th. After all the label problems, Ras will put out two street albums, starting with "Institutionalized", which will be followed by a sequel, for now titled vol.2.

Production on the album will be handled by XL, Jim Bond, J Classic, Ish, D-Cyde, Da Riffs, Kookie, Rick Rock, Shaft, E Roc, Vyente and The Heatmakerz.

Damon Dash Music Group's star rapper Beanie Sigel was released this morning (August 9) from a Federal Correctional Institution in Fairton, New Jersey.
Sigel was welcomed home by his mother, Michelle Brown-Derry, his fianc?©e Melissa and DDMG's Damon Dash and Kareem "Biggs" Burke.
Sigel entered prison on November 8 and was released after serving most of a one year sentence for gun possession charges. Sigel was already tried for attempted murder last April, stemming from a July 2003 shooting outside of a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania bar. A mistrial was declared when the jury could not reach a verdict. Fans supported Sigel during his stint behind bars. His latest release The B. Coming debuted at #3 on Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart, the highest of Sigel's career.
The album has moved over 300,000 copies since being released in March.
Sigel is immediately planning a tour to support The B. Coming and he will also drop a DVD August 23rd. The DVD will include personal commentary from Sigel himself, BET's uncut three part special "The Truth", "The Trial" and "House Arrest", the "Feel It In The Air" video and never before seen concert footage from a performance at club Exit in New York City.

Atmosphere will go back on the road in support of their new album You Can??€�t Imagine How Much Fun We??€�re Having due in-stores on October 4, 2005. The Pour Me Another Tour will feature Atmosphere, Blueprint, DJ Rare Groove and P.O.S & Turbo Nemesis. Atmosphere started out 2005 by performing eight sold out shows in a row at the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis for the CD reissue of Headshots: Se7en beating the original (five) sold out shows record held by the Replacements in 1986. On January 21, Atmosphere joined the lineup on the Big Day Out Tour of Australia and New Zealand along with artists: Beastie Boys, System of a Down, Slipknot, The Streets and more. Starting March 1 in Madison, WI Atmosphere hit the road in the U.S for their two-month tour that sold out 49 of the 52 shows.
The Pour Me Another Tour takes on 56 shows in 66 days. Atmosphere will kick things off with two intimate exclusive shows in Duluth, MN at Luce before starting the official tour in Cleveland, OH on September 13, 2005 at House of Blues. The tour features two music festival dates, September 16 at CMJ Music Marathon and October 29 at the Las Vegoose festival in Las Vegas, NV.
