Skratchcon 2000 is the world's first conference dedicated to the education and development of skratch music literacy. Skratchcon 2000 served as a main source of support for the rapidly growing musical style known as skratch music. Its efforts include identifying young, emerging skratch musicians and encouraging them through education, moral, and financial assistance to advance their achievements in the skratch arts. Thud Rumble, Ltd. unveiled this historical event July 1, 2000, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater. Skratchcon 2000, technological forum and interactive presentation of the musical understanding of the DJ arts took place in the skratch epicenter of the world, San Francisco, California. This one-day seminar comprised of lectures, technological presentations, musical technique workshops, and one-on-one meetings with the masters of the art form emphasizes skratch music's significant impact on the music industry, and reinforces its position as a globally vibrant musical style. Musical demonstrations will feature the arts of skratching, beat juggling, battling, trick mixing, and a highlighted team presentation, which focuses on the creation of the turntable band.

Word is Talib Kweli ended his relationship with Geffen Records. During a recent episode of "Rap City," the BK emcee revealed that he had inked a label deal for his Blacksmith Records. He added that he intended to sign underground standouts MF Doom and Jean Grae and that he hoped to sign Rakim to his roster. A source at Warner Music Group confirmed to SOHH.com that Kweli had a deal with the company. However, the source said the labels' artists had yet to be confirmed.

The artist formerly known as Sean Combs has changed his name for the umpteenth time.
P Diddy has dropped the P, and as of today will be known simply as Diddy.
Fans could be forgiven for losing track of the rap star??€�s moniker. In recent years he has evolved from Puffy to Puff Daddy to P Diddy.
He admits the changes were starting to baffle even himself.
??€?Nobody knew what to call me,??€? he told the New York Post. ??€?I??€�d notice that people were uncomfortable when I??€�d meet them for the first time, and then they??€�d ask me what they should call me.

Well I got to listen to the new album thanks to my friend who runs a record store here in Munich so I thought I'd give y'all a quick taste of what's to expect...
01. Touch the Sky - produced by Just Blaze. Nice Curtis Mayfield sample and featuring an up and coming Chicago emcee called Lupe Fiasco. Pretty deadly combination this one, dope track.
02. Gold Digger - straight head bopping beat, nice hook by Jamie Foxx... this track like so many others by Kanye is about evil chicks haha. Second single.
03. Crack Music - most controversial track on the album... Game on the hook and Kanye rapping about black power conspiracies. Kinda heavy.
04. Heard 'Em Say - Adam Levine from Maroon 5 on the hook, nice melodic track. Gonna be the third single.
05. Drive Slow - dirty south stomper with a chopped and screwed DJ Screw sound to it. GLC and Paul Wall are featured. Not really my thing but many will like it.
06. Bring Me Down - Brandy gives you goosebumps on this one, along with the massive choir in the background. Definitely a highlight on the album.
07. Addictive - up tempo track with south American feel. The girls are gonna love it... sure fire club hit.
08. Diamonds from Sierra Leone (Remix) - the official remix of the first single with a qick 16 by Jay-Z.
09. Celebration - another over-the-top production, hype stuff. gotta love it!
10. Late - very experimental sudden burst of tempo... kinda strange. Not sure what to think about this one.
11. We Major - Solid track nice feature... not necessarily a highlight.
12. Hey Mama - The only old song that made it on to the album. Features John Legend in a re-mastered version.
13. Gone - Cam'ron, Consequence and Kanye spitting fire. Fucking incredible beat.. apparently Common rejected it! This is one of the best tracks for sure.

10. Late - very experimental sudden burst of tempo... kinda strange. Not sure what to think about this one.
11. We Major - Solid track nice feature... not necessarily a highlight.
12. Hey Mama - The only old song that made it on to the album. Features John Legend in a re-mastered version.
13. Gone - Cam'ron, Consequence and Kanye spitting fire. Fucking incredible beat.. apparently Common rejected it! This is one of the best tracks for sure.

Sorry to all European Eminem fans, but he will be canceling his European tour dates, which run from September 1st through 17th. Eminem is currently being treated for exhaustion, complicated by other medical issues. The shows are not expected to be rescheduled.
In a brief statement, Interscope Records said Eminem was scrapping the tour, which was supposed to kick off Sept. 1 in Hamburg, Germany, and end Sept. 17 in Dublin, Ireland. There were 10 concerts scheduled. "Eminem is currently being treated for exhaustion, complicated by other medical issues. The shows are not expected to be rescheduled," the statement read. Eminem's publicist, Dennis Dennehy, said he had no further information on Em's condition, and couldn't say whether he was hospitalized or what other medical issues he had. "We just want to get the word out that these tour dates are being canceled," he said. "Hopefully we'll have some news later on."
Em just ended his summer tour with 50 Cent and Lil Jon on Aug. 13 with performances in his hometown of Detroit. Dennehy said it was unclear when the decision was made to cancel the European tour.
