Charlie Wilson is a name that stands out as one of the most influential artists in the history of R&B music. Throughout the late '70s and early '80s he dominated the charts, wrote and produced four #1 R&B hits and 15 top ten hits including "You Dropped a Bomb on Me," "Outstanding," "Yearning for Your Love," "Oops Upside Your Head" and "Early in the Morning." Uncle Charlie, as he is fondly known, has also added his trademark voice to many landmark hits of the '80s, most notably "Computer Love" with his late friend Roger Troutman and Zapp.

Uncle Charlie and The Gap Band have been instrumental in defining modern day urban music. As the most sampled artist in history, The Gap Band has been used by over 150 recording artists including Mary J. Blige, Usher, Ashanti, Will Smith, Madonna and George Michael. As many of you will know in 1997, Uncle Charlie forged a relationship with Snoop Dogg, performing on Snoop's platinum "Doggfather album", singing "Snoops Upside Ya Head," "Tha Doggfather," "She Was Just a Groupie" and many others. More recently Charlie collaborated with Snoop on tracks including the smash hit "Beautiful" featuring Pharrell and the latest hit "Signs" featuring Justin Timberlake.

Uncle Charlie continues his legacy by enlisting an incredible list of help including Snoop Dogg, R. Kelly, Justin Timberlake, Will.I.Am, Pharrell, Scott Storch, Kay Gee, Todd Terrill, Dre & Vidal and the Underdogs for his latest album, "Charlie, Last Name Wilson." There are conflicting tracklists currently however the one i have received is shown below, the album is executive produced by R. Kelly.

DJ Eric B. Alive & Well

Post by sunrah »

A fost un zvon acum cateva zile ca l-au killarit pe Eric B. de aceea stirea asta!

Pioneering DJ Eric B. is alive and well and there is no truth to reports circulating that he had been shot and killed.
A phony report surfaced on the internet stating that Eric B., born Eric Barrier, was shot and killed in a barbershop in Camden, New Jersey.
Shortly after the report was circulated, nationally syndicated radio host Wendy Williams mentioned the report and soon dismissed it at as not being credible, but the rumor and phony report spread rapidly.

"The only way I am going to go is by having a heart attack while I am out with my grand kids," Eric B. told AllHipHop.com. "I want to thank everyone for their concern. You never really know how you have impacted people until some sort of crisis."

Eric B. was a part of the seminal group, Eric B. & Rakim. The DJ stated he was spending a good amount of time debunking the rumor to family and friends.

"My daughter and I are making a list of people to call back, there's been that many people that have called," Eric B. said. "I am alive and well. The only person I am dead to is Jay-Z, he never returns my phone calls."

ImageODB's manager signs Bizzy Bone!

Heads are talking about the signing of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony (BTNH) member Bizzy Bone to 845 Entertainment, the newly formed company formed by Old Dirty Bastard's manager, Jarred Weisfeld and finance whiz Greg Miller.
Bizzy's solo set, due September 27th is causing much anticipation among Bone fans. And for good reason.

According to Weisfeld, however, the signing is for several reasons. First reason - business. In light of his huge popularity, Bizzy was an obvious choice. After his last solo effort, 2004's Alpha And Omega, and Bone Brothers, his 2005 collabo with fellow BTNH member Layzie Bone, fans were left wanting more.

"I wanted a second chance at hip-hop after what Cherry and I accomplished with Dirty," he said emotionally. "I just wanted a second chance to try and do that with hopefully a better ending. [Bizzy and Dirty] had extraordinary personalities and Dirty was like my brother and I just want to take somebody that was very similar to Dirty, Bizzie Bone, and try and see it through this time."

The decision to even start the company was a personal milestone for the man who sided with Cherry against ODB's widow, whom he labeled as "greedy."

Bizzy Bone's new album ??€?Speaking in Tongues??€?, drops Sept. 27th.

MADLIB - "BEAT KONDUCTA VOL. ONE: MOVIE SCENES" - LP

Image

Sept. 13 Streetdate. It's a cinematic beat journey....first to the Ill side then to the Dope side. Sit back and let Madlib The Beat Konducta lead the way. Following up on his super-successful double 7inch Beat Conductor EP (2001), Madlib is back with this collection of beats created between 2000 and 2005. Many of the tracks have been culled from his now legendary beat CD's such as 100 Beats and Another 100. Vol. 1: Movie Scene presents a vivid hip-hop instrumental soundtrack fro each mood, laid out like one of those vintage library records made for synching up background music with television shows and movies. Each song has a title, as well as a parntherical mood or theme to correspond with what's unfolding on screen. (Description from Stones Throw One Sheet)

SEQUEL TO THE PREQUEL

Slum Village is wasting no time delivering the "classic" record that they promised on their recently released mixtape, Prequel to a Classic. After delivering a handful of previously unreleased joints on Prequel, the Detroit boys are striking while the iron's hot with their next full-length, the self-titled Slum Village. Featuring the lead single, "Ez Up," featuring crooner Dwele, the album marks the return of Slum Village to the independent game, as they will release this album via Barak Records. II. SITUATION AND ASSUMPTIONS

5.During an emergency or disaster, the State will take immediate and appropriate action to determine, direct, mobilize, and coordinate resource needs.

B. Assumptions

1. The State is primarily responsible for natural and technological emergency preparedness, but has a shared responsibility with the Federal government for national security preparedness.

5. The initial actions of prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery operations are conducted by local
government. Local authorities will exhaust their resources, and then use mutual aid agreements with volunteer groups, the private sector and/or neighboring parishes.

6.State assistance will supplement local efforts and federal assistance will supplement State and local efforts when it is clearly demonstrated that it is beyond local and State capability to cope with the emergency/disaster.

IV. ORGANIZATION AND ASSIGNMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

B. Responsibilities:
The Governor has the overall responsibility for emergency management in the state and is assisted in these duties by the LOHSEP Director. ... General responsibilities for all agencies are as follows:

C. Local

1. The Parish and Municipal governments' Chief Executive has overall responsibility by law for the direction and control of emergency/disaster operations and is assisted by a Local Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Director. Such responsibilities include the development and implementation of emergency management programs to provide for rapid and effective action to direct, mobilize, staff, train, and coordinate use of local resources. The local director will plan for the protection of life and property for his citizens during times of emergency/disaster incidents.

D. Federal

The Federal Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), has the responsibility for the coordination of federal emergency/disaster operations and resources in support of state and local government capabilities, and for directing and coordinating the delivery of federal disaster relief assistance programs. Assistance efforts are organized and coordinated according to the policies and procedures detailed in the National Response Plan (NRP), dated 2004 and the National Incident Management System (NIMS), dated 2004.

50 says P.Diddy changed his name to be like him

Post by sunrah »

FIDDY vs DIDDY // SEPTEMBER 03, 2005

Fiddy has accused Diddy of changing his stage moniker to resemble his own nickname, in a bid to boost his popularity. 50 is known as Fiddy to a large number of his fans, and he's far from thrilled with the increasing similarities between his and Combs' nicknames.

He says, "I'm Fiddy and now Puffy wants to be Diddy, trying to move his name closer to me, you know what I'm sayin'? When it's cold outside you gotta stay next to the fire to keep warm."

RZA News (John Frusciante on Cuban Linx 2!!!!!!)

Post by sunrah »

First of all, on behalf of all the fans and Wu-Tang Corp, we would like to congratulate The RZA on his new born baby son who was brought into the world at 8.3 pounds yesterday.

RZA, who has been living in LA for a while since he departed New York last year, has been busy in the studio working on various Wu-Tang projects.

First of all, there's good news about Cuban Linx [Part II]. While various producers, including Dr.Dre and Nottz have laced Raekwon with beats for the highly anticipated album, it is The RZA who will now be responsible for 90% of the production. Other good news is that all of the Wu-Tang Clan members have returned to their infamous Wu-Gambinos characters for the album including GZA/Genius as Maximillion who has been recording many songs with Raekwon lately. Busta Rhymes is still involved as an executive producer.

Another special appearance on Cuban Linx [Part II] comes from Red Hot Chilli Pepper guitarist John Frusciante who has been camping in RZA's studio for a few days. RZA and John reportedly recorded five beats together but where they will end up remains uncertain. Daron Malakian, guitarist of System Of A Down has also been in RZA's studio for a few days recording up to 10 songs with RZA.

Method Man is back in the lab writing after recording 8 tracks with RZA. There's no word on his release yet. On a brighter side, Inspectah Deck has been in LA recording with RZA after a 3 year break from working with eachother. Masta Killa is finishing up his second album with at least 5 beats produced by Bronze Nazareth.

On the movie side of things we can report that RZA will defenitly start shooting his movie 'The Man With The Iron Fist' in October. The movie will be a tribute to the old school Shaw Brothers movies that inspired the Wu-Tang Clan in their early days. One of the 'Five Deadly Venoms' actors is scheduled to make an appearance in the movie. More information is to follow...
