“Life is good” este albumul numărul 10 al lui Nas (Nasir Bin Olu Dara Jones) și apare la 4 ani distanță de ultimul album, Untitled și la 18 ani distanță de albumul de debut Illmatic. Între timp, alături de Damian Marley a lansat în 2010 Distant Relatives.

Primul single de pe album este "Nasty" și a fost lansat în data de 9 august 2011 via iTunes. În data de 24 februarie 2012, Nas anunța pe Twitter faptul că a terminat de înregistrat pentru album. În data de 3 aprilie 2012 a lansat cel de-al 2-lea single, "The Don". Piesa "Another Black Girl Lost" apare pe internet în data de 17 aprilie 2012, dar nu intră pe album. Pe 1 mai lansează pe iTunes noul single "Daughters". În data de 21 iunie 2012 lansează "Accident Murderers" în colaborare cu Rick Rosspe contul de soundcloud al lui Nas. Cel de-al 5-lea și ultimul single de pe album este "Loco-Motive" și a fost lansat în data de 2 iulie.

Piesele sunt produse de Salaam Remi (de asemenea producător executiv), No I.D. (executiv), Nas (executiv), J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Rodney Jerkins, DJ Hot Day, Swizz Beatz, Buckwild, Heavy D, Da Internz, 40, Al Shux și Boi-1da, iar colăborările sunt cu Large Professor, Rick Ross, Mary J Blige, Anthony Hamilton, Miguel, Swizz Beatz, Victoria Monet, Amy Whinehouse, Nikki Flores și Cocaine 80s.

Nas Confirms Recording Lost Track With Frank Ocean

Nas discusses the track Frank Ocean said was lost.

Earlier this month, Frank Ocean spoke of a track he recorded with Nas, "No Such Thing as White Jesus." According to Ocean, the digital session was lost.

In an interview with MTV News, Nas spoke on the cut, but would not say that it was "No Such Thing as White Jesus."

"I've talked about a song with Frank Ocean about a year and a half before anybody worked with him and since then it's been a heavily anticipated record, but I didn't talk about which song actually," said Nas.

Despite not committing to the title, Nas did confirm that the collaboration occurred. "Now, I've talked about us working and we never got to that point, completing a great record," he said before pondering the potential outcome. "Who knows? I guess it would've been a big record if it ever came to light."

Nas are una dintre cele mai lungi si tumultoase cariere de pe scena hip-hop-ului de peste ocean, si in ciuda faptului ca anul acesta a implinit "majoratul" in hip-hop, Nas a ramas fidel drumului pe care a inceput si spre bucuria fanilor sai acesta nu a schimbat foarte mult stilul sau muzical prin care a scris istorie cu albumul sau de debut, "Illmatic", acum mai bine de 18 ani.

Al unsprezeceala album de studio al lui Nas, "Life is good" s-a aflat anul acesta pe o scurta lista a celor mai asteptate lansari din industrie si in ciuda scepticismului afisat de unii fani, albumul nu a dezamagit fiind foarte bine realizat din toate punctele de vedere.

Alegerea acestui titlu pentru album a fost considerata de ascultatori cel putin ciudata, mai ales dupa ce Nas a trecut prin multe momente grele in viata persoanala, cel mai cunoscut fiind divortul de sotia sa Kelis. Ne putem pune intrebarea: Cum poate fi viata buna pentru un artist care tocmai a trecut printr-un divort foarte greu? Cum poate fi viata buna pentru un artist care nu a reusit sa se impuna ca figura paterna in viata fiicei sale? Cum poate fi viata buna pentru un artist care a fost dat in judecata de fisc pentru taxe neplatite in valoare de 2.5 milioane de dolari?

In ciuda acestor lucruri Nas a reusit sa debuteze cu "Life is good" pe prima pozitie in topuri dupa prima saptamana de vanzari, fanii nefiind dezamagiti de revenirea artistului cu un album solo dupa patru ani de absenta.

Cand a lansat "Illmatic", Nas avea doar 21 de ani, acum fiind aproape de 40, artistul a reusit sa realizeze un album mult mai matur, un album ce propune o tematica mai sumbra, prin introducerea problemelor personale in piese si printr-o selectie de instrumentale ce este menita sa scoata in evidenta lirica extraordinara pentru care Nas este foarte bine cunoscut.

Jay Electronica & Stic.man Of Dead Prez Reportedly Ghostwrote Portions Of Nas' "Untitled" Rumors are circulating that Jay Electronica and stic.man of dead prez ghostwrote portions of Nas' "Untitled."

Allegations of rappers using ghostwriters is commonplace in Hip Hop - everyone from Diddy to Kanye West has been caught red-handed in the act. Now, however, rumors are circulating that Jay Electronica and stic.man of dead prez ghostwrote portions of Nas' acclaimed 2008 album Untitled.

Responding to a follower on Twitter yesterday, journalist Dream Hampton claimed that Jay Electronica and stic.man ghostwrote large portions of Nas' controversial LP. Later, Rappers I Know writer FWMJ Tweeted that Electronica told him in a phone conversation that he had written Untitled's celebrated opener "Queens Get the Money," to which Hampton responded that she heard five additional reference tracks.

Stic.man also weighed in on the rumors today through his Facebook. He called Nas "one of the...most prolific original lyricist" in the genre and described their work together as a collaboration rather than ghostwriting. He later Tweeted at Nas, disregarding Hampton's allegations and saying "your work speaks for itself."

"As far as the rumors about myself and jay electronika ghost writing for Nas, let me say this. Nas is one of the if not the most prolific original lyricist to EVER do it," he wrote. "My contributions to his album was a collaboration and an honor and under his direction of what he wanted to convey and say. Haters cant discredit that man’s genuis. Nas is the Don."

Nas has yet to release a statement on the matter. DX will keep you updated as more information comes to light.
