Cei doi planuiesc sa-si faca nunta in Hawaii cat mai curand posibil.
Duck Down Records Preps New Projects For 2007

Buoyed by their ingenious “Tripe Threat” campaign in 2005 (Buckshot & 9th Wonder’s Chemistry, Sean Price’s Monkey Barz and Smif N Wesson’s Reloaded) Duck Down Records re-established itself as one of Hiphop’s premier Independent labels. The buzz for the label and its artists only heightened in 2006 with the release of the reunited Boot Camp Click LP, The Last Stand, and Sean Price’s massive sophomore solo-LP, Jesus Price Superstar, which firmly re-established the Boot Camp Click as one of Hiphop’s most talented collectives ever assembled and Sean Price as one of Hiphop’s most engaging lyricists.
Since the release of Sean Price’s Jesus Price Superstar, Duck Down has undergone a distribution change which promises to further solidify its position, as Duck Down Records is now back under the powerhouse Koch Records umbrella. In addition, the Duck Down website (
www.duckdown.com) has been completely revamped with a brand new look and features and now includes a Duck Down shop for it legion of devoted fans worldwide.
Over the next few months, Duck Down will be releasing a host of new projects; including Sean Price’s “Master P” mixtape,
Steele’s (of Smif N Wesson) “Hotstyle Takeover” mixtape and Boot Camp Clik’s “Casualties Of War” which will be released on 8-14-2007 (Casualties Of War is not the latest “official” Boot Camp Clik LP, but a collection of tracks recorded for The Last Stand and various solo-projects from Boot Camp Click members solo-projects that were not previously released). While Heltah Skeltah continue to work on their forthcoming LP and even as rumors swirl about Sean Price being courted by major labels,
Sean will begin working on his next solo-LP (arigo, era baut cand a postat ca se lasa

), Mic Tyson, the projects slated to arrive in the fall of 2007 are LP’s from
Smif N Wesson, a still untitled collaborative LP from Sean Price, Black Milk and Guilty Simpson (which all three members are currently in Detroit finishing) and the highly-anticipated Buckshot and 9th Wonder sequel The Formula (their official follow-up of Chemistry).
While the Duck Down name, its history and artists are widely renowned and branded throughout the Hip-Hop landscape, the label is branching out to begin to distribute and promote artists from those outside the typical Boot Camp Click artist structure and negotiations are already under way with a few up-and coming artists and iconic rap legends; this change signifies a major transition in the label, as it becomes a home to develop and market artists of all flavors. The first such project of this transition will be
Special Teamz (EDO. G’s collective group, which consists of EDO. G, Slaine and Jaysuan) debut “Stereotypez,” which is currently slated for a 9-25-07 release date and will include production from DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Marco Polo, Jake One and Ill Bill and guest appearances from Sean Price, Buckshot, Devin The Dude, Ill Bill and Jamie Jasta of Hatebreed among others.

SOHH.com has recently obtained exclusive footage of GZA's new DVD, "Wu-Tang Revealed," documenting the Shaolin collective.
The DVD, which has yet to receive an official release date, chronicles the Wu's experiences through behind the scenes clips, video shoots, performances and never before seen footage of the clan at the Wu Mansion in Los Angeles. "Wu-Tang Revealed" was shot mostly by the Gza over a seven year period and is currently in the final stages of editing. It is set to be ready for several screenings over the next few months.
If that wasn't enough for the die hard Wu following, the clan is also set to drop their latest studio album, 8 Diagrams, some time this summer. The album will be released through Steve Rifkind's SRC Records and features all of the original group members, including a posthumous performance by the late ODB.
Wu-Tang will also be hitting the road with newly united rock/rap outfit Rage Against The Machine at the Rock The Bells Festivals in both California and New York. The two groups had originally hit the road together back in 1997.

Randy Hubbard Parker, son of rapper KRS-One, was found dead in his Atlanta apartment over the weekend in an apparent suicide. He was 23.
Simone Parker, KRS-One's wife and Randy's mother, said Tuesday (July 10) in a statement that her son's death was related to "severe depression." The family is planning a private memorial service in Florida on July 18, which would have been Randy's 24th birthday. Plans for an August memorial service in New York are under way.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office said Parker died on Friday from a gunshot wound to the head, and listed the cause of death as suicide.
KRS-One was on tour overseas with producer Marley Marl and was not available for comment at press time, but the statement conveyed his and Simone Parker's appreciation to everyone who has offered condolences.

RZA Discusses '8 Diagrams' and ODB's Involvement
The RZA sat down to speak with Billboard.com recently about the Wu-Tang Clan's upcoming album The 8 Diagrams - the group's first album since 2001. RZA assured that the album, which is due in October on SRC, will be very much influenced by the late Ol' Dirty Bastard: "He left a piece of himself in each and every one of us," RZA said. "Even in the performance of some of the lyrics, you'll hear a style or attitude that he injected."
The group, largely hailed as one of hip hop's all time greats, began recording the album in April. "Me personally, I wasn't ready until then," RZA revealed. "I reached out when I knew I was 100% ready to do it, and everybody came to the table."
The highly-anticipated album will feature the ODB tribute Life Changes, as well as tracks titled You Can't Stop Me Now, We Got This, Campfire and Thug World, which features System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian. Q-Tip also appears on the project, possibly for the first single.
RZA also spoke on the varied production, which will be handled not only by him. "You will hear some unique sounding stuff and a vintage hip-hop spirit."
Finally, the Wu-Tang mastermind revealed that he is busy working with an ODB outtake, originally slated to make Enter the 36 Chambers, the group's classic debut. "I lost it, because the DJ who handled my equipment back then, we just got disconnected," he says. "He actually found the tape about eight months ago and flew out to California with it. The problem is, it doesn't sound all that great, because this was 1992 or 1993 when it was recorded. But ODB's performance is fuckin' immaculate. So maybe I can find some software to restore it and put it on as a bonus track."
RZA also remained hopeful about the possibility of bringing the Wu back for good, as the group readies for the Rock the Bells tour, which will commence in the coming weeks. "We're rekindling flames,...There's a strong potential this could be a long campaign, so this will keep us on the road together, on TV together and keep us working together."

Six years ago, Anthony Ian Berkeley—better known to fans as Too Poetic from ’90s horrorcore group Gravediggaz—succumbed to colon cancer. Initially given only four months to live, he hung on for just over two years. It was this willingness to live and tenacity towards death that made Poetic a far contradiction to the title of his group. For that reason, his early passing left a foul taste in the mouths of many hip-hop heads, as he had so much more to contribute to this art form.
Born in Trinidad and raised in Long Island, Poetic fell in love with hip-hop early on and formed the Brothers GRYM with younger siblings Brainstorm and E Sharp in 1989. Sharp handled some of the production duties, while Poetic and Brainstorm rocked the mic. They created a buzz for themselves on the underground with their first official demo, which included notable cuts like “Circle-Circle-Dot-Dot” and “GRYMnastics.” Just when the group was close to landing a record deal, Brainstorm surprisingly decided to quit rap altogether and forced Poetic to pursue a solo career. Despite scoring an underground hit with the 12-inch single “God Made Me Funky/Poetical Terror” on Tommy Boy Records, success didn’t come easy for Poetic. The rap vet spent a brief period of time homeless before longtime friend Prince Paul offered him a spot in the supergroup Gravediggaz, which also included Frukwan from Stetsasonic and the RZA from Wu-Tang Clan. The quartet’s debut, Six Feet Deep, was released on Gee Street/Island in 1994 to high praise and introduced “horrorcore” rap to the masses. Poetic, who had by this point changed his moniker to Grym Reaper, was a stand out member because of his eccentric flow and maniacal laughter that could often be heard scratching the walls in the background.
The ingenious novelty of the Gravediggaz insanity act began to dissipate by the time the group’s 1997 sophomore effort, The Pick, the Sickle and the Shovel. Poetic began to stray away from the morbid Grym Reaper side of his music and leaned more towards his philosophical side. Songs like “Repentance Day,” “Dangerous Mindz” and “Fairytalez” displayed his talent as an MC much more than his previous work. Gravediggaz, however, went through tough times shortly after the album’s release. Looking to pursue other avenues in their careers, Prince Paul and RZA—who had evolved into one of hip-hop’s most respected producers—decided to leave the group. Then, in May ’99, Poetic collapsed in his home studio and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered he had an advance case of colon cancer. Lacking health insurance, the diminutive rapper saw his medical bills soar while hip-hop artists and fans tried to raise money for his costly surgery and chemotherapy. Tragically, the efforts were all for naught as Poetic died from the disease on July 15, 2001. In an effort to keep his rhyme partner’s legacy alive, Frukwan released 2002’s Nightmare in A-Minor, the final Gravediggaz’s album he and Poetic were working on before his death. Now, six years later, XXLMag.com pays tribute and respect to Poetic. On record and in life, he still holds a place in our hearts.

VH1 will once again honor the hip hop pioneers and legends that have made significant contributions to all aspects of pop culture with the fourth annual “VH1 Hip Hop Honors.” Hosted by Tracy Morgan, this year’s honorees include Snoop Dogg, Whodini, Missy Elliot, Wild Style’s 25th Anniversary and Teddy Riley and Andre Harrell for New Jack Swing.
Premiering on Monday, October 8 at 10 PM*, “VH1 Hip Hop Honors,” will celebrate the players who broke new ground and pioneered the genre into a true cultural phenomenon. “VH1 Hip Hop Honors” will be taped at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Thursday, October 4. The music and influence of each of the honorees will be recognized through performances by classic artists in collaboration with today’s hottest new talent. Generations of hip hop will bridge the gap for one exceptional night to set it off with the original style and flavor that sparked and inspired the evolution of the music. Additional performances and appearances will be announced shortly.
On July 23, VH1.com is launching “THE SCORE,” an online search to find the best, undiscovered hip hop producer in the country. VH1 will give one lucky producer the opportunity to heat up VH1’s fourth annual hip hop celebration by awarding him or her with the opportunity to create and produce the official score of the annual, televised event. The winning score will be used during the broadcast of “VH1 Hip Hop Honors.” The creator will receive show credit and the opportunity to be mentored by an industry executive/producer during a session where the winning score will be professionally produced.
From July 23 through August 20, contestants can post their 60-second beats for consideration at
http://hiphop.vh1.com/. See site for official rules and guidelines. Three finalists will be selected by a panel of music industry judges. Viewers will then decide through online voting who has what it takes to create and produce this year’s official score to “VH1 Hip Hop Honors.”
Additionally, in early September, VH1.com will launch a dedicated “VH1 Hip Hop Honors” Web site with honoree profiles, exclusive online content and more.
“VH1 Hip Hop Honors” is executive produced by Lee Rolontz for VH1 and Jac Benson for Blackjac Entertainment. Louis J. Horvitz will direct. Nelson George and Fab Five Freddie are consulting producers.
