Raekwon discusses his new EP "Lost Jewelry" and whether he will appear on G.O.O.D. Music's "Cruel Winter."
Next month, veteran Wu-Tang Clan emcee Raekwon will release his recently announced EP Lost Jewelry. Now, the Chef has sat down with HipHopNMore to discuss the status of his impending project.
According to Rae, his Lost Jewelry EP is currently still in it early production stages. He continued that the EP will serve as an entrée to his next full length album, which will reportedly be the third installment of his acclaimed Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... series.
"I can't really be giving you all the ingredients yet, man. That's like asking to get a banging slice of pizza and you ain't even let the man go in there and make the pie," he said. "It's definitely still in the production phase though, but it's gonna be raw though. It's the set-up: it's me saying, 'Okay, I'm coming back around the block, big old bag of treats, big dimes and big candies, big Mary Jane pieces for you.' Just suck on that for a little while before you get that meal you need…the Lost Jewlery [EP] is setting up the album, the album is setting up whatever else I'm getting ready to give y'all in the future."
Raekwon also spoke on the possibility of making an appearance on G.O.O.D. Music's upcoming Cruel Winter album. Although the Staten Island legend didn't make any promises, he said he would be willing to lend Kanye West and company a verse if 'Ye required one.
"Kanye and them is my guys," he said. "You'll never know [if I will appear on Cruel Winter]. If he was to call me in to do some things, it's gonna happen. I'm a big fan of the movement, they've been doing a lot of great things. When they call a fella like me in, they know what I get ready to do."

Raekwon Talks New "F.I.L.A." LP, Refers To The Album As A "Lifestyle Project"
Raekwon hoping for a Wu-Tang Clan reunion album, says fans can expect his "F.I.L.A." album this June.
Raekwon’s recent Lost Jewlry mixtape may have been a highly praised release, but according to the Wu-Tang spitter, the project was merely an appetizer leading up to the release of his new LP this summer. While chopping it up with HipHopSince1987.com, Raekwon revealed that his next LP titled F.I.L.A. (Fly International Luxurious Art) will serve as a “lifestyle project” that the world can relate to.
“I got another project coming out, which is the LP cause Lost Jewlry was basically an appetizer mixtape. To really get everybody to just get ready for me,” Raekwon explained. “So we wanted to drop something that we know that will make the heads turn like ‘Yo, Rae got it together on this right here.’ So you know, the next project is called F.I.L.A. F-I-L-A, which the acronym is basically Fly International Luxurious Art. That’s my next project that’s coming out in June. That one is a lifestyle project. It’s gonna be hot. I just got to the level of finishing it up and I’m feeling real good about this.”
After sharing his thoughts on a possible Wu-Tang Clan biopic, the rapper again spoke on a possible Wu-Tang Clan reunion album and shared that everyone would have to be “comfortable” for such an album to be made.
“That right there is in the makings and it’s a lot of negotiations going on,” said Raekwon. “Process of really making everybody comfortable. We’re praying that that works. You know what I mean? That [it] works out in the greatest way. Everything has to be right. When you dealing with nine guys and you splitting the pot nine ways, it gotta make sense. Cause we got children now.”
Raekwon’s Lost Jewlry EP was released in January of this year and featured guest appearances from Maino, Freddie Gibbs, and more.
