Fugees fans that have been waiting nearly a decade for a new album may not have to hold out much longer.
At the BET awards on Tuesday [June 28] evening, the group, whose show-opening reunion performance featured a medley of "Ready or Not," "Fu-Gee-La" and "Killing Me Softly," announced that a new album is in the works. "Right now we're in the studio figuring out what our zone is going to be," Pras said, according to Billboard.com. He added, however, that the follow up to 1996's The Score might take some time to complete since the members didn't really talk to each other during their rehearsal for the BET performance. "Everything happens for a reason," he said. "We're here now and trying to see if we can do it again. It's a healing process and tonight was a big surgery [for us]."
fam i found sumethin interestin' post by Davey D. -> here's his oppinion bout BET awards & The Fugees, so i'm gonna cut the chase.. Somethings to Ponder-Random Observations About the BET Awards in LA

So the BET Awards came through LA this week and put everything on tilt for the 3 days all the festivities and parties were in place. There’s so much to cover and so much to say that it’s hard to know where to began…
I guess we should start with what down last night at the show itself. After being holed up in the Radio Room for two days where every major celebrity/rap star swung through no one had any idea that Wyclef Jean, Pras and Lauryn Hill were in the building. It was one of the best kept secrets to come along in a long time. Needless to say when they hit the stage to open up the show everyone was stunned. The Fugees were back.
Now I will have to admit Lauryn who had just made headlines a couple of weeks before for exuding bizarre behavior at a concert wasn’t exactly on point when it came to hitting all her notes for classic gems like ‘Killing me Softly’, but who cares? It’s been a while, she’s been through a lot-so she gets a pass. I was just glad to see her back on stage trying to work it out. Whatever internal drama she’s had or is going through we hope, pray and encourage her to keep keeping on…
The bottom line is Hip Hop needs the Fugees. Their return to the fold may send an even stronger message to folks that it’s possible to move forward, heal old wounds and create brighter tomorrows... Speaking of which, word around town is that EPMD is about to get back together… I didn’t know they were apart, but hey I’m all about Unity in the Community…
am extras doar ce facea referire la subj. Fugees!
intrun fel sunt fericit iar intr-altul nu stiu cat de optimist ar trebui sa fiu...eu sper dar totusi este cam greu sa faci ceva mai bun decat the score..astept.sa vedem

It's taken just about a decade, but the Fugees reunion that fans begged for, gave up on and then started asking for again is official. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Prakazrel Michel have been in the studio for two months, according to their label, and have just leaked a new song called "Be Easy."
The reunion album is still untitled, but a tentative release date of December 27 has been scheduled. There's no word yet on who the group has been working with.
On "Be Easy," the three exchange verses, with Hill employing a speedy, spoken-word-type of flow, while Clef and Pras use a more traditional delivery. "I got moxie, I'm so damn cocky/ Industry tried to block me like cops and paparazzi," Hill raps. Later she says, "We 'bout to reconcile."
"I see you looking, but you better take it easy," Clef advises during the chorus. He comes a little harder in his verse: "I ain't rhyme in a minute, but y'all ain't catch up/ And that ain't blood on your shirt, it's ketchup."
The Fugees stunned the crowd with a surprise performance at Dave Chappelle's block party in Brooklyn, New York, last summer , and their most recent show was in June at the BET Awards (see "Destiny's Child Give Lap Dances, Fugees End Feud At BET Awards"). Hill had been cutting records for a solo album, however details on the project remain sketchy (see "Kanye West Collaborating With Lauryn Hill On New LP"). Pras just released his latest solo LP, Win, Lose or Draw, a few weeks ago. Clef released a Caribbean-flavored LP called Welcome to Haiti: Creole 101 last year.
