Company of Hip Hop Pioneers To Launch "Sedgwick & Cedar Records"
Sedgwick & Cedar, The Authentic Heritage Clothing Company of Hip Hop backed by The Founder DJ Kool Herc and pioneers Afrika Bambaataa, Melle Mel, Grand Master Caz, Chief Rocker Busy Bee, Sha-rock 1st Female MC of Hip Hop will launch a music division with Platinum Ice Records LLC and over 25 time Platinum Producer Easy Mo Bee called "Sedgwick & Cedar Records". The pioneers and Platinum Ice see a void in music today. They will produce tracks and beats inspired by the past and twist it in a fresh way for hot artists that will be make the music new and exciting to young listeners today but rooted in Hip Hop's history of funk and soul.

The name of the division "Sedgwick & Cedar Records" pays homage to the famous Bronx intersection at Sedgwick Ave and Cedar Park where Hip Hop music was born on August 11, 1973.

Ray Riccio, CEO states, "Sedgwick & Cedar respects and celebrates the birthplace and heritage of Hip Hop culture and those who paved the way. We pay homage to the roots and pioneers of Hip Hop by providing authentic heritage clothing and footwear that celebrates the legendary style of the culture. However, we recognize that everything we do is really inspired by the music. It was essential for us to pay homage to the music that inspired Hip Hop; like James Brown, Jimmy Castor, The Isley Brothers, The Incredible Bongo Band, King Tubby and others.

Riccio adds, "music was always part of our brand vision, because the unique style of Hip Hop; the clothes, sneakers, cars was and always will be about the music first. But we were very conscientious to align with the right record label that understood the roots of where the music came from and could connect the funk of the past in a contemporary way to Hip Hop today. Once Easy Mo Bee was on board, we new it was time to bring the music back to its roots." Easy Mo Bee and "AB Money" Mosley, President of Platinum Ice will oversee creativity of Sedgwick & Cedar Records through a separate division of Platinum Ice Records LLC.

Easy Mo Bee has produced more than 25 platinum records and produced for both Biggie Smalls + Tupac. Wu Tang, Mos Def, Alicia Keys, Big Daddy Kane and jazz great Miles Davis will dig into his crates to break fresh tracks and beats under "Sedgwick & Cedar Records," A Division of Platinum Ice Records LLC.

Platinum Ice Records, also owned by Casey Hoban and Tom Simjian, is very excited and honored to pay respect to the pioneers of Hip Hop. "We all grew up, looking up to these giants. They were responsible for the birth of Hip Hop. They were, and still our the Kings. Everything we do today, spawned from these incredible innovators of not just music but an entire culture." Easy Mo Bee added, "Look for Sedgwick & Cedar Records to be a smash Hip Hop success. Many of the industries most notable stars are aligning with Platinum Ice Records and Sedgwick & Cedar Records for major upcoming projects to be released."

Easy Mo Bee
Grammy Winning Producer

Sedgwick & Cedar Records which will strategically launch August 11th, the anniversary date of the birth of Hip Hop music (August 11, 1973).

50 Cent Sues Over 'Shoot The Rapper' Advertisement

50 Cent filed a lawsuit against an internet advertising firm, seeking at least $1 million dollars in damages over an infamous ad that appeared on various Internet sites titled "shoot the rapper."

The rapper is suing Traffix Inc., the company that created an infamous advertisement featuring a caricature of 50 Cent smiling that offered fans the chance to click their mouses and "shoot the rapper."

If the user succeed in shooting the rapper, the prize was "$5,000 or 5 ringtones guaranteed."

50 Cent's lawyer Peter Raymond told the Associated Press that 50 Cent is suing because he was a victim of gun violence.

They also used his named and likeness without permission, implying that he endorsed the "game."

"For all those reasons, he is personally offended," Raymond said.

The advertisements started to appeared on Myspace.com's member pages shortly after the Virginia Tech shootings, including some of the victims pages.

Media watchdog groups were outraged at the ads.

"Imagine the outcry if Fox Television ran a 60-second spot that said, 'Shoot the American Idol star -- on our Web site -- and win $5,000.' This is no different," said Peter Zollman of Poynter.org.

50 Cent Takes Aim At Chamillionaire, Master P & Ghostface
50 Cent is know infamously known for disrespecting fellow rappers. Since his "How to Rob" days, 50 has been harassing opponents routinely. Now, is he aiming at Chamillionaire, Master P and Ghostface?
Recently, Spin ran an interview they had with 50. Now, Spin has decided to reveal the unabridged version of the interview online. In the interview, 50 and Tony Yayo have few kind words for other artists.
When he is told that Chamillionaire, Ghostface and Master P have claimed that they will not curse in future records, 50 had this to say:
"None of those people sell records."

When corrected (the interviewer noted Cham sold a million copies of his last LP), 50 added this:
"Let him go sell gospel records, if he's so ****in' righteous. I can write around the curses if I want to, but you can't tell me to write around the curses. First of all, there's a clean version of the record available, anyway, if people don't want to hear that content."

When the topics change, Ghostface becomes a target.
"The streets are different now," Yayo stated. "Guys like Ghostface don't matter. They don't. They had a run, but it's over."
Yayo went on to claim Ghostface did not write Supreme Clientele. 50 claimed that he did not know about that, but went on to say that Ghost was a failure for his numbers.
"In my camp, a couple hundred thousand records is a failure. From my perspective, if I sell 200,000 copies, after selling 12 million records, it's considered terrible...But if you're on a major record label, and he [Ghostface] is, and you sell a couple hundred thousand records, that was a failure. Your ****in' photos and videos aren't recouped with 200,000 copies sold."

Later, he went on to speak on Oprah.
"Oprah is a good businessperson, right, considering that she's a billionaire? And her job is to go out and cater to as many middle-aged white people as possible...She doesn't ever say anything that anybody from the ghetto is gonna ID with. Take a poll. Find me some young black women who ID with Oprah.I guarantee you will find a way bigger demographic of middle-aged white women than young black women. Her issues are aimed at them. She can escape the fact that she's black because she's a billionaire, and the white women think, "Hey, me and Oprah, we think the same thing," so they tune in and enjoy it and watch the show."

50 Cent's upcoming album Curtis will be released September 11th

On August 7th, Public Enemy will release their new album entitled How You Sell Soul To A Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul??? This album marks their 20th Anniversary as a group (their career is almost as long as that fucking album title) and is filled with 19 politically charged hip hop anthems. Coinciding with the release of this album, Public Enemy will perform 4 shows on the upcoming Rock the Bells Tour.
