După 4 albume lansate independent, From Da Dope Game 2 Da Rap Game (2000),Self-Explanatory (2001), Life (2003) și Back 2 da Basics (2006), Mario Mims aka Yo Gotti revine în data de 10 ianuarie 2012 cu primul său album oficial, intitulat “Live from the Kitchen”, lansat prin Polo Grounds Music, RCA.

Data lansării a fost amânată de multe ori, ultimul motiv fiind faptul ca Sony Music Entertainment a decis să închidă J Records împreună cu Arista Records, și Jive Records.

Revenind la album, melodiile sunt produse de Cool & Dre, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Jim Jonsin, și Hot Rod și colaborări cu Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Jadakiss, Big K.R.I.T., Big Sean, 2 Chainz of Playaz Circle, Gucci Mane, Stuey Rock, și Trina.

Albumul este promovat și de 3 single-uri: 5 Star (Remix), "We Can Get It On" și "Single".

The song originally leaked on 2010 featuring R&B singer Ciara. But on the single's release date of May 10, 2011, Ciara's vocals were replaced by female singer Kayla Shelton & the bridge by Ciara was removed. The version with Ciara later became a remix to the song.

As of the week of July 9, 2011, "We Can Get It On" had charted at #23 on Billboard Rap Songs. The song debuted on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart 16 weeks before it debuted on the rap chart. The week of July 23, 2011 it had peaked at #31 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart.

The music video was released on June 22, 2011. It was is directed by Gabriel Hart. The video shows Yo Gotti sitting on the side of a pool performing to the camera and holding his girlfriend. There is also a scene where Yo Gotti is standing against a car. Ciara was not featured in the music video.

"5 Star" ("5 Star Chick" is the edited version/"5 Star Bitch" is the explicit version) is an promotional by Yo Gotti. The song is produced by Hot Rod. It was released on May 20, 2009. The music video was released on August 2009, Rick Ross made a cameo appearance on the video.

The song had a lot of promotion getting heavy promotion on MTV, MTV2 and BET and a lot of airplay entering the Billboard Hot 100 the week of November 17 at #79.

The music video was shot in Los Angeles and premiered on 106 & Park two months prior to the remix video. The remix video premiered on 106 & Park on October 9,2009, later peaking at #1 and ranking at #25 on BET's Notarized Top 100 Videos of 2009 countdown.
