Casual Records and OCD Productions are going to release "The Return Of Dr.Octagon" featuring the original vocals from the Fanatik J project. Produced by One Watt Sun and featuring Princess Superstar and Dexter Fabay (The Avalanches). I don't know if its a legit release, but they are releasing the "Aliens" single in February. Listen to samples on the MySpace Page. You can also get more information here. The album is obviously not supported by Kool Keith.
this was also posted on the site:
The album has been bootleged by 101 Distribution, in association with Real Talk Records and 33rd Street Records. The album has already been shipped and is in stores as of October 12th. It cannot be recalled. The album features 2 demos, 2 Clayborne Family tracks, and 6 INCOMPLETE tracks from the upcoming 7th Veil album. The cover of the album features Kool Keith standing in front of an Escalade, which he is not even down with. 101 Distribution, Real Talk, and 33rd Street are being sued for this release. According to Jacky Jasper, the official bootlegger is Michael Kinbrew (a.k.a. Scoobie) and his partner Damon Evans. Supposedely, these two have stolen records from Kurrupt and had false negotiation agreements with Kel of "Kenan and Kel" (Nickelodeon). HipHopSite.com has already recalled the album. Some albums have slipped through the cracks and made it into stores.
*Please DO NOT SUPPORT this album.*
so, if you see this record in stores, STEAL IT, cause the man aint gonna see a dollar of the sales money!
cardshark wrote:That second bit of info is actually about the Dr. Octagon II release a couple years back. But the first is right. The original Fantik J rock version is also supposed to come out this year. This release is official but not endorsed by Keith.
scurvy wrote:FYI - Keith apparently sold these tracks for a few bucks 3-4 years ago and then these OCD guys took them and built tracks around them. from what i have heard, keith has tried to distance himself from this thing forever and automator is pissed too. i'm interested to check it out, but doubt it has the damaged charm of the original octagon. sounds like these guys are trying to make a buck on the octagon name..

Prefuse 73, Aesop Rock Remix Dr. Octagon
Dave Maher reports:
Kool Keith isn't content with being a little loopy all by himself, so he's trying to make the rest of us crazy as well by surrounding the June 27 release of The Return of Dr. Octagon with the greatest possible amount of mystery and complexity.
The newest twist in the saga of the greatest doo-doo rapper alive is the release of a digital comic accompanied by remixes of material off the new album. According to a press release, the comic, the first episode of which is being released today, will feature illustrations, written blurbs serving as "chapters" in the ongoing story, and streaming mp3s in each of its eight weekly installments leading up to the release of the album. And at the current rate of exchange between Earth currency and whatever they use on Jupiter, all of these things are being offered for free.
On the musical side of things, the project will feature remixes by Aliens, Kid Loco, Cassettes Won't Listen, DJ ESE, and Catchdubs, with other potential contributors including Aesop Rock, Prefuse 73, Her Space Holiday, and Spank Rock. However, today's inaugural episode will eschew remixes in favor of a 20+ minute mixtape sampler of music from the album. All of these tracks will only be released as downloads with the comic, which you can access by visiting music.download.com, soundslam.com, IGN.com, or Audible Treats. Wild and crazy!
