Def Jam Recordings will release the long awaited and hotly anticipated Method Man and Redman album, Blackout 2, the follow up to their platinum plus collaboration, Blackout! on April 28th, 2009!
Featuring production from Pete Rock, Rockwilda and Erick Sermon, Blackout 2 will satisfy Method Man and Redman fans who have followed the two from their first verse. The first singles, “A-Yo” featuring Suakrates produced by Pete Rock, “Miss International” featuring Erick Sermon produced by Buckwild and “City Lights” featuring Bun B produced by Nasty Kutt are Method Man and Redman at their best.
Already an integral part of the fabric of hip-hop culture Method Man and Redman took hip-hop by storm when they released Blackout!. Hailed as one of the best albums of 1999, it featured the game changing singles “Y.O.U., Tear It Off” and “Da Rockwilder.” Method Man and Redman wrote their names in the history books as some of rap’s best lyricists.
"...when hip-hop's most playfully creative rhyme stylers throw down like two superballs in a rubber room, they're unstoppable - and make rap's most joyous ride." – Entertainment Weekly
Redman exploded on to the hip-hop scene in 1992 when he released his debut album, Whut? Thee Album. That gold album was followed up with the gold-plus, critically acclaimed releases Dare Iz a Darkside(1994), Muddy Water (1996), Doc’s da Name 2000 (1998), El Nino with Def Squad (Keith Murray and Erick Sermon in 1998) , Malpractice (2001) and Red Gone Wild (2007).
Always larger than life, Method Man became a vital part of hip-hop culture in 1992 as a founding member of the hip-hop supergroup Wu-Tang Clan with their instant classic Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Solidifying himself as a superstar in his own rite, Method Man released the platinum releases Tical (1994), Tical 2000: Judgement Day (1998), Tical 0: The Prequel (2004) and 4:21…The Day After (2006).
Don't sleep on this sure-to-be instant classic, available everywhere April 28th, 2009.
