Mr.Woodnote & The Bonobo Hobos.
The seeds were sewn in the summer of 2008 when Mr.Woodnote & The Bonobo Hobos united on the UK's underground music and festival circuits. Their paths frequently crossed through performing and a shared passion for the same fat sounds. The following winter, with his head in the beats, Mr.Woodnote lived, performed and recorded with Dub FX, along the way picking up some of the finer points of loopstation trickery. 'Winter of Woodshed', Mr.Woodnote's debut album, features Dub FX & The Bonobo Hobos. The release was recorded and produced independently, without record company funding or promotion. Mr.Woodnote & The Bonobo Hobos now tour their show, street to stage, city to city, promotion the album themselves. They are currently writing their next album which will be out for summer 2010.
Mr.Woodnote is a saxophonist by trade. Originating from Australia with a background in Jazz, his travels paused in Bristol two years ago. Since then he has recorded, performed and toured with Dub FX, The Bonobo Hobos and others from Bristols musical underground. His first album 'Winter of Woodshed' showcases his formidable skills as a saxophonist, human beat-boxer and composer. Mr.Woodnote is now on tour with The Bonobo Hobos, taking their unique, eclectic, bouncy beats and lyrics from street to stage, city to city.
MC Idle (aka Theo Weywood) has been rapping and writing poetry for seven years. A week after spitting his first rhymes he grabbed his first microphone, performing to a most appreciative audience and never looked back. His laid-back, tumbling flows are complex in pattern and content.
Lil Rhys developed his lyrical skills against a colourful yet gritty backdrop of Bristol, UK. As a member of The Bonobo Hobos and now in convoy with Mr.Woodnote, he continues to satisfy crowds with his light hearted and bouncy flows, always tight and steeped in realism.
